Deity and Significance: Madhyamaheshwar (also known as Madmaheshwar) is a Lord Shiva temple. It is the fourth temple to be visited in the famous Panch Kedar Pilgrimage circuit.
Panch Kedar Circuit: The other temples in this circuit are Kedarnath, Tungnath, and Rudranath (visited before Madhyamaheshwar) and Kalpeshwar (visited after).
Elevation: The temple is situated at an altitude of 3497 meters.
Mythology: The temple’s legend is linked to the Mahabharata epic. It is believed that Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers, built the temple to atone for the sin of killing their Kaurava cousins and Brahmans in the Kurukshetra war.
Worship: The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is worshipped in the form of a navel-shaped lingam.

Itinerary
- Description: The journey begins with a long drive from Rishikesh to Ukhimath. Ukhimath is a picturesque town and serves as a major base for treks in the region. The drive takes you through winding mountain roads, offering stunning views of the Himalayan foothills. Upon arrival, you will settle into your accommodation to prepare for the trek that starts the following day. Ransi village, the official starting point of the trek, is a short distance from Ukhimath.

Description: This is the main trekking day. After an early start from Ukhimath, you will head to Ransi village. From here, the ascent to Madhyamaheshwar begins. The trail is approximately 16 km long and passes through dense forests, small streams, and meadows. You will pass through a key location called Lower Bantoli, which is a common resting point. The path is a continuous uphill climb and can be challenging but is rewarding with spectacular views of snow-capped peaks. The trek culminates at the revered Madhyamaheshwar temple.

Description: After a serene morning at the temple, you will begin your descent. The trek back follows the same route. While the path is the same, the descent is generally faster and easier than the ascent. The journey is a long one, so it's important to start early. You will retrace your steps back through the scenic landscapes to reach Ukhimath by evening.

Description: The final day involves a return journey from Ukhimath back to Rishikesh. You'll enjoy one last look at the stunning mountain scenery before descending into the plains. The journey marks the end of a memorable and challenging trek.
