Itinerary
The journey begins with a long and scenic drive from Rishikesh to Sankri, the base camp for the trek. The route takes you through the beautiful towns of the Garhwal Himalayas, offering views of terraced fields and lush valleys. Upon arrival, you'll settle into your guesthouse and prepare for the trek ahead.
After a short drive from Sankri to Dharkot, the actual trek begins. The trail is well-defined and follows the course of the Supin River, passing through dense forests of pines and oaks. You'll cross small villages and wooden bridges, finally arriving at the picturesque Osla village, known for its unique wooden architecture.
Today's trek is a gradual ascent from Osla. The trail offers breathtaking views of the majestic peaks and follows the Supin river valley. You will pass through lush meadows and cross streams, reaching the campsite at Seematra, a beautiful and open space with a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
This is the most rewarding day of the trek as you head to the "Valley of Gods." The trail ascends steadily, and you'll be surrounded by snow-capped peaks and alpine vegetation. Upon reaching Har Ki Dun, you will be greeted by the iconic cradle-shaped valley, a truly breathtaking sight. After spending some time exploring, you will trek back down to the Seematra campsite.
Today, you'll retrace your steps from Seematra. The trail descends through the same scenic landscapes you crossed on your way up. You will enjoy the beauty of the valley from a different perspective as you make your way to the campsite at Pauni Gharat.
The penultimate day of the trek involves a descent to Dharkot. The trail is a mix of easy walks and gradual descents. From Dharkot, a vehicle will be waiting to drive you back to the base camp at Sankri. You'll spend the night in a guesthouse, celebrating the completion of the trekking part of your journey.
The trek concludes with a long drive back to Rishikesh from Sankri. You'll get one last chance to enjoy the serene mountain views as you wind your way down from the Himalayas, carrying with you the memories of a beautiful journey to the Valley of Gods.
