
Kedarnath

- Mythology:
Kedarnath is deeply rooted in the Mahabharata. After the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas sought forgiveness from Lord Shiva for their sins. Displeased, Shiva disguised himself as Nandi (the bull) and fled to the Himalayas. When Bhim tried to catch him, Nandi vanished into the ground. Later, Shiva reappeared in different forms across five sacred sites, now known as the Panch Kedars. - Panch Kedar Legends:

Badrinath
- Elevation: 3,300 metres (10,827 ft)

Trijugi Narayan Temple
- Elevation: 1,950 metres (6,400 ft)
- Location: Ukhimath Block, Rudraprayag District, Uttarakhand
- Significance: Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple architecture closely resembles that of Badrinath.
- Mythology & Importance:
- This sacred site is believed to be the place where the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati took place, with Lord Vishnu himself presiding as Parvati’s brother and Lord Brahma as the priest.
- The temple stands as a symbol of this divine wedding, making it a popular spiritual wedding destination even today.
- Special Features:
- The Brahma Shila in front of the temple marks the exact wedding spot.
- Three sacred kunds (ponds) – Rudra Kund, Vishnu Kund, and Brahma Kund – believed to have medicinal and spiritual properties. These are replenished by the Saraswati Kund.
- Pilgrims often take a holy dip in these kunds before entering the temple.

Gopinath Temple
- Location: Gopeshwar, Chamoli district, Uttarakhand
- Surroundings: Set amidst lush green valleys, snow-covered Himalayan peaks, and the soothing sound of the Alaknanda River, this temple offers a serene and spiritual atmosphere.

Kalimath Temple

Chopta
