Badrinath is one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites, located in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, at an altitude of about 3,133 m. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and forms part of the Char Dham and Chhota Char Dham circuits. The temple, nestled between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges with the Neelkanth peak in the backdrop, opens only from May to November due to heavy snowfall in winters.
Vasudhara Falls is a stunning 122 m high waterfall, about 9 km trek from Badrinath (via Mana village, the last Indian village near the Indo-Tibetan border). Surrounded by snow-clad peaks and rocky cliffs, it is believed that the water of the falls only touches those who are pure at heart. The trek offers breathtaking Himalayan views and is a serene extension for pilgrims and trekkers visiting Badrinath.
